Job Summary
The University of Michigan is seeking a strong clinician scholar to lead the University Center for the Child and the Family (UCCF) at the Institute for Human Adjustment (IHA). This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide leadership for UCCF's interdisciplinary clinical service and clinical training programs, and to facilitate the continued development of community outreach and collaborative research activities. The position will be made available to the strongest candidate as either a 50% appointment (UCCF Director and clinical training responsibilities) or 100% appointment (UCCF Director with expanded clinical training and service responsibilities).

UCCF is located on the University of Michigan campus and serves children, adolescents, and families from the greater Ann Arbor area. Consistent with its primary missions of clinical service and training, UCCF participates in two APA-accredited clinical psychology internship training programs, practicum training for clinical psychology graduate students, and postdoctoral training in clinical psychology. It also offers postgraduate training in social work and field placements for students in the School of Social Work. Academic collaborations involving faculty and students from University departments and units are encouraged.

The Clinic Director will report directly to the IHA Director. The salary will be competitive based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. We hope to fill the position with a candidate who can begin to fulfill responsibilities in January of 2011. However, flexibility in starting date is possible.

Responsibilities
The Director provides leadership in planning the overall strategic direction of UCCF; provides leadership for clinical, training, community outreach, and research activities; evaluates the effectiveness of UCCF operations and implements organizational changes; and provides oversight for fiscal and human resource planning and allocation, marketing, fundraising and administrative operations. The Director ensures compliance with standards of external agencies including the American Psychological Association and HIPAA regulations. In addition, the Director monitors and ensures the welfare of patients seen by trainees; structures the activities of the trainees to ensure provision of competent services; and works with trainees to fulfill the professional requirements of their training programs.

Required Qualifications
The qualifications for this position are a PhD in clinical psychology; licensure in the State of Michigan; significant training and clinical experience in the provision of evidence-based services within an integrated model that considers cultural context, family values, developmental issues, and family and community systems; significant clinical supervisory experience; and a minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in a mental health setting. Additional desirable characteristics include administrative experience in a mental health setting, an understanding and appreciation of overall University objectives and of the academic goals of graduate education, and an ability to successfully navigate the complexities of a university setting. Individuals from underrepresented groups are welcome and encouraged to apply. The University of Michigan is a non-discriminatory, affirmative action employer.
