Latino Mental Health Providers' Network Coordinator

We are currently searching for a Latino Mental Health Network Coordinator to join our Chicago Campus.

Position Summary:

The Chicago School of Professional Psychology's Center for Latino Mental Health aims to organize efforts and respond to the mental health needs of Latino communities by developing the Latino Mental Health Providers Network, a network of service providers. This network will provide culturally competent training to existing providers, thereby improving their cultural competency. The network will provide direct service, public awareness, professional development, research, and outreach. It will coordinate and strengthen efforts of grassroots agencies with limited staff and limited capacity to address critical needs. This network will be a collaborative, membership organization, strategically focused to build cultural competence among its members and other health care professionals and community agencies. Also, the network will address the immediate need for culturally competent care by placing 10 clinical counseling interns in agencies to work with clients and staff. The Network Coordinator will develop and implement this effort. In addition this person will manage the Network's communication and collaborations efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Outreach to area agencies, policymakers, the media, and general public.
  • Develop relationships with community MH agencies.
  • Coordination of Network efforts, including scheduling meetings and trainings.
  • Development of training on topics related to Latino mental health.
  • Assist in defining outcome measures and improving them for the overall program.
  • Implement evaluation process and encouraging compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree, or significant work towards a master's, in related discipline.
  • Related experience in a similar role
  • Bilingual with Spanish fluency.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills, including statistical software (e.g. SPSS)
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved populations, especially Latino/as.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to move projects towards completion according to assigned deadlines
  • Demonstrated skills in quantitative and qualitative analytical methods relevant to program evaluation.
