Physician II (General Psychiatrist)

Western State Hospital is recruiting for a staff General Psychiatrist at a 252-bed state psychiatric hospital. The current need is for HOTT/attending psychiatrist for a 22-bed psychosocial rehab/Comm. Prep ward. Primary diagnoses include schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression and personality disorders. Duties include providing psychiatric care of patients transferred to the ward (diagnostic reassessment, psychopharmacologic management, and indicated psychotherapies). HOTT duties include providing overall leadership to team, supervision of milieu, supervision of team in planning and implementing psychiatric, medical and behavioral treatment plans for patients. This position is a 40-hour work week. Completion of an approved medical school and eligibility/certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology preferred.

Bi-lingual Spanish and English are highly desirable.
